At Mark's Asphalt Paving & Seal Coating, we take pride in delivering smooth, durable driveways that stand the test of time. Here's what goes into every high-quality asphalt driveway we install:
1. Planning & Site Evaluation Every project begins with a detailed assessment. We measure the area, evaluate soil and drainage conditions, and plan for optimal grading and long-term performance. 2. Clearing & Excavation We remove old pavement, grass, rocks, and debris. Then we excavate to the proper depth to make room for a strong, stable base. 3. Grading & Sloping Proper drainage is critical. We carefully grade and slope the surface to direct water away from your home and prevent puddling or future damage. 4. Installing the Base Layer A compacted base of crushed stone or gravel is laid to provide stability and support. This step is key to preventing cracks and dips down the road. 5. Compacting the Base We use heavy-duty rollers to compact the base layer, creating a strong foundation that can handle the weight of vehicles and withstand the elements. 6. Binder Layer (for commercial projects as needed) For added strength, on heavily used commercial areas, we may apply a binder layer—a mix of coarse aggregate and asphalt for extra durability. 7. Asphalt Installation We lay hot mix asphalt and spread it evenly to the proper thickness. Our crew then rolls and smooths it for a clean, level finish that’s built to last. 8. Final Rolling & Cleanup After paving, we do a final pass with the roller to perfect the surface. We also clean up the site, leaving your property neat and your driveway ready to impress. 9. Curing & Aftercare The asphalt sets quickly, but we recommend waiting 24 hours before walking on it and 2–3 days before driving. We’ll also share simple tips to keep your new driveway looking great for years. |
